    What do I do with my garden waste? 

    Home composting is one of the most environmentally-friendly and cost-effective ways of dealing with garden waste. Around one third of our waste can be easily composted at home – from garden clippings to cardboard, tea bags and paper. By composting instead of putting everything in the rubbish bin we can greatly reduce the amount we send to landfill.

    Food and garden waste is taken to a central composting facility at Nantycaws, Carmarthen, where it is turned into compost or soil conditioner to be reused.

    Compost bins can be purchased from the council for £18 including delivery, call Carmarthenshire Direct on 01267 234567.

    If you cannot compost at home, please use your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre.  If you cannot do either, garden waste can be collected weekly in pre-purchased county council bags (£3.50 for 20) available from the council’s cash desks or from a number of community outlets including:
